What is this world coming to....first Mike....now Steve....like Marvin Gaye said " whats goin on"....im serious. This is startin to really get me out of my zone...like what is goin to happen next...Obama?! I believe God is giving us a sign that the end is near....just look on the news....WW3 is just ariund the corner...South Korea is set to make war in everyone with the launch on their supposedly practice missiles. Life is really to short. If you dont believe me look at the age of the icon that have recently died. Most of them are either in there early 50s or younger. It doesnt even feel safe to go outside anymore without someone peeping your everymove. I dont even carry cash on me anymore for the simple fact that people are robbing each other left and right. Its carzy out here now-a days. When will all this massive killing and negativity come to a stop? I honestly think never. The day it will stop will be the day God comes and rescues those that are victims of this brutal society that we call home. I felt that i needed to drop this little blog just for the sake of our people....something for people to read and think about in this time of help.

1.In the article, the justices and lawyers are arguing over the issue of the kinds on drugs Redding was accused of having and whether strip searching a middle school student was appropriate. the argument that was the strongest was Justice David Souters. He explained that he would rather embarrass a child over a strip search than have a child die because of the drug and everything just be forgotten.
2. My procedure and conduct for strip searches in middle schools would be to treat the student with respect all times during the process. In the procedure, students would undress in a empty room and have a rope to cover up with. Administrators would come in the room and check the room for anything. I would also hold random strip searching once a month. The kids would notified before hand of the consequence faced.
3. In the case of Savanna Redding, if she was found with prescription drugs, my opinion would most definitely would change about the situation. In this situation, the school should just be honest about the situation and add that if the drugs were in her possession, she could have done harm to other students.

My ideal university would be a 3 year school. Having to take all of those general education classes are what makes students stay in college for four years. Students would only have to take classes that pertain to their major. In my ideal universiy, classes would not start until 12 o'clock. That gives students with jobs enough time to get their work done after work and get some sleep. In my ideal univerisity, the price of parking would be free. Students already pay enough to attend school, they shouldnt hurt their picket having to pay for parking too. Also in my indeal university, the grading curriculm would constist of three tests through out the semester for each course. In some classes students are tested every week. Studenst need time to study for other their courses. Testing in a subject every week keeps them focused on one particul subject more their other subjects.

1. After the considering the arguements, i would say that the visual and texual rhetoric of the shirt is very creative and connects with a younger crowd. The visual rhetoric of the shirt expresses a feeling of connection and and peace. The textual rhetoric of the shirt is a great way to attract younger people. When people see this shirt, they automatically get a more chill and urban representaion of Jesus. I believe the first shirt gives a more relaxed and urban appeal than the first one does. From viewing both of the shirts, i dont see it as being being a parody spoof. With being a Christian, i dont see these shirts as something negative. I see it as a way to to reach out to different groups of people.
2.
3.I f the shirts only containted the text, it would change the rhetorical alot. The shirt would just be a a plain phase without any kind of imagination behind it. IIf it only had the texts, it would definatly change the way I react to the shirt but not a lot. When i see the shirt, i imagine myself with Jesus. If the shirthad only the text, it would be less of an image because its only words. With the visual, you can imagine Jesus being someone thats someone you can chill with and talk to on a comfortable level.
4.For the shirt on the left, I interpret this shirt as Jesus being just super cool and and chill. The facial expression of Jesus just seems like Hes really cool and all about peace. the coloring of the shirt shows Jesus as being a very a very calm person but a serious person at the same time. The shirt shows a lot of red. I believe this represents the blood of Jesus. In the shirt on the right, I interpret shirt as Jesus being protrayed on a more serious level. The gestures that He makes shows he trying to reach out to you. Hes holding the text almost like Hes wanting to give it to you

1.My reaction to this video is very staight forward. I believe steriods should not be used in anyway at all. Even though its not proven, steriods does in some way lead to death. There are a lot more side of effects than they mention in this video. I know a hand full of people that use steriods and some of there side effects are very noticable. A very common reaction to steriods is roid rage. Roid rage is a term given to people that act very aggressive at certain times after taking steriods. This rage has been shown to lead to violent behavior. Using steriods in sports is simply cheating.Your doing something that the next man isnt doing. I cant really see how using steriods can be used responsibly. Its to much revolved around steriods now for it to be used responsibly. More and more people are using it fo rthe wrong reasons now-a-days. Male teens are trying to become what they see on tv. They feel that if my favorite athlete uses steriods then its cool for them to use it.
2. Personally, I believe that using steriods will always be a negative thing. Even though there arent many studies that prove steriods leads to death, steriods do. In sports, steriod testing should be done every month. There should be randon testing at any time. Some athletes feel like there untouchable and that they can do anything they want. That mindset has to be stopped. There needs to harsher punshment towards those that contiue to break the rules. I believe that the public is what makes steriods so so much of a demand. When we wach sports, we want to see the best athletes compete. Athletes feel like to become the best, they have to do what the next person isnt doing. That is how its is for high school sports. College want the best athlete they can find. High school athletes what to be what the college coaches want. So they distance themselves from the rest and do what will make them better than the rest. Its so much expectation that sometimes their driven to have to use steriods to become what we want them to be.

1. The arguement in the first article is that action figures have gorwn over time. The article first begins to discusses how most males in college are dissatisfied with the way they look externally. They wish that they were looked a certain way that would increase there self esteem. The article later discusses how action have grown over time. It is obvious that through time, action figures have grown over time. When action figures first started to come out in the early 60's, there wasnt any definition on the plastic figures. As time went on, the figures began to become more and more defined. With this, the actual male human body began to become more and more muscular. The arguement in the second article is that action figures have influeced young males to want to become as muscular as the action figures are. The article discusses how young males want to look the way the muscular and defined action figures look by any means. If this means the uses of steroids than so be it. The artlice discusses how the use of steriods and wanting to look like the athletes we see on tv is starting to destroy society little by little.
2. The tone in article one presents the authors arguement very well. In the article, it expresses every little bit of the point its trying to get across. The article gives actuals facts of the how the measurements of the toys have expanded over time. The audience for this article is persuaded to the young adult males. In article 2, the tone from the authors arguement seems kind of humorous. The article gives a sense of how even though action figures are just toys, the immulate figures that we want to be like. An example of the humor is when he talks about the action figures being just toys. " They are toys. We all know that. Thats why we stop playing with them before we get out of grade school. We'll, most of us, anyway." The audience the author is relating this to is the young males.
3.My feelings towards theses articles were that they are true and that actio figures did have an effect on me. Growing up on action figures like Batman and Hercules, it gave me a sense of wanting to be more masculine and bigger than I was. The media also influenced my vision of become very muscular and defined. Watching the my favorite athletes on tv everyday that had the features that I wanted influenced me to hit the gym every harder than I had before.

Anti -Proana
1. With the websites and blogs now-a-days that promote being anorexic, becoming thin as possible is starting to become a trend. Young girls and young women are starting to starve them selves to death. This has to stop. These females are becoming to self conscious about themselves. Theses websites need to be shut down before females get to the point were start to think thats its cool to be anorexic. When females get to the piont thats its cool to be like this, thats when they start to spread the concept of beind anorexic to there friends. I went to school with this girl that was anorexic. She seemed like was so depressed. Everyday at lunch, she would get a milk and sit in the corner by herself. Thats all she would have for lunch. I felt kind of bad because of the stuff she went throungh. Thats why I feel that these website need to be shut down. These websites arent helping them out at all. The only benefit I can accept from all of this is on the blogs were there expressing their feelings about their situations. Other than that, it all needs to be shut down because its not benefiting them in any way.
2. With Anorexia become a bigger issue everyday, websites and blogs are becoming a great place for women in particular to express their feelings about their problems. A lot of people see these websites as harmful and not beneficial. I see it as females with these problems need a place to guide them with their problems. I know some females with these problems that are not afraid the talk about their conditions. They open with the fact that they have a condition that needs to be treated. The blogs are a great place for females with anorexia to hear about other situations and to tell otheres about their situations. If websites and blogs were not created for these people with these conditions, I believe their conditions could get worse because theirs to push to want to do better. A lot of people with this condition feel lonely and scared. This gives them a place to not feel lonely and know that there are others out there that have the same problems that they do.
3. Anorexia is growing in America everyday. Lots of people suffering with this condtion dont know how to handle having it. Websites that cater to this condition are benefial in some ways. In some ways they help because it allows people with this conditon to express how they feel. A lot of people with this conditon are scared and dont know how to express how they feel about themselves and their condtion. The blogs allow them to reach out with outhers and talk about their our situaitons without feeling scraed and embarrased. On the other hand, these websites can damage these people also. Even though these website are for people with this conditon, some people on these websites dont really know if they even have this conditon. They think they have this condition. With them thinking this, they get deeper and deeper into it where their thinking turns into knowing. The bad thing about these website and blogs is that anyone get one and join. I dont think that these website should be abolished but i do think there should be more regulation on these sites. I quess it would be hard to have more regulation on these sites and bloggs but somehting has to change.

1.My inital reaction to this ad was that the definition of running has lost its true meaning. Now-a-days, the sport of running is substituted wiht jogging. I remeber years ago when I was in middle school, magazines such as Eastbay and ESPN the Magazine would advertise running to its full effect. Its seems like the sport of jogging is starting to overshadow runnuning. Even though most people would argue about theres not being a big difference between the two, there truely is a big difference. The elemets that stook out the most to me were the comments in the ad that talked about runners jog but joggers never run. I believe this for the most part is a true statement because when joggers jog, their usually at a steady pace unless their slowing down. They hardly ever start off jogging and then start sprinting all of a sudden. When runners run, their usually running a different paces to trying to gain more and more speed. When they start to slow down at a steady pace, thats when their jogging.
2. With me being a runner, this ad affected my response in a bit of a way. I had not really noticed the sport of running being overshadowed until this ad. Reading this ad really opened my eyes to what is starting to happen with running. I wouldnt say that its particulary being overshadowed but the sport of jogging. I feel that jogging is just starting to come to light as running has already done.
3. The literal components of this advertisement lend significance to the ads intent to persuade because its gives you a sense of running being a key essential to life. It kind of gives you a feeling of going out to run after reading the ad.
4. The most important value that I recieved from this ad is that running helps maintain good health. I believe that is the most important value because obesity is starting to take a big affect in the world. This ad is advertiseing running which to to me is adverticing bieng active and healthy.
5. In the ad, I believe that Pearl Izumi alienates the jogging population to its detriment because the ad talks about how joggers are not important at all. In the ad, it evens goes back to our ancestors. Describing them as to never have jogged and the ones that did were nobodys and starved to death. Me personal, I think this ad takes it a little to far as to down grading joggers. The ad makes jogging a bad thing and something that is done on the bottom of the list of things to do.
6. When I look at the ad, the apppeal that is strongest to me is the pathos appeal. This appeal is strongest to me because in the ad, its mainly joking on joggers. One example of this when the ad mentioned joggers can purchase snow cones and greet skaters on the street. The ad mentioned how joggers have time to great everyone while jogging meaning that their not taking their jogs serious. This ad is used not only to persuade running, but to make fun of joggers.
7. If I was to choose between the Pearl Izumi ad and the Reebox ad for selling a product , I would choose the Reebox ad. I choose this ad because its a less aggresive ad and the visual part loors the audience in with the man puking. The Pearl Izumi ad seems a little bit on too aggresive because it talks about crime involed with running. Thats just isnt a good selling approach when mentioning crime and running in the same sentence. I believe it knid of makes you not want run at all , especialy at night.
